Key outcomes

  • Time per proposal: 60 minutes to under 5 minutes, client reported
  • Agency records: Connected from Applied Epic
  • Review: Producers approve every proposal

Context

Riemer Insurance Group is a family-owned insurance business that runs on Applied Epic. Producers worked around a cumbersome agency system and unstructured carrier PDFs to prepare each client proposal.

Dagny built Epic integration, proprietary document parsing, and a custom proposal system around the way Riemer's team already works.

Proposal preparation before Dagny

  1. Epic records
  2. Carrier quote PDFs
  3. Manual workarounds
  4. Pasted policy screenshots

The proposal system

Dagny connected agency records with carrier documents, extracted the relevant facts, and organized a client-ready proposal for producer review.

1. Epic as the account foundation

Epic provides the account context. New quotes supply the proposed terms, and expiring policy values stay separate so the comparison remains clear.

2. Proprietary document parsing

Dagny's proprietary PDF parser is trained to identify differences across policy documents and distill lengthy files into the facts that matter for a proposal. The parser removes unnecessary detail while keeping coverage changes and source references visible for review.

3. A shared proposal design system

Dagny rebuilt the proposal design system so extracted facts become a clear, consistent document for the client.

  • Structured coverage tables: Readable limits, premiums, and deductibles replace pasted policy screenshots.
  • One consistent visual language: Typography, spacing, and section styles carry through every proposal.
  • Reusable, editable sections: Account summaries, coverage schedules, and endorsements fit into a shared document structure.

4. People stay in control

A file is not a finished proposal. The system reads the selected PDFs and extracts the facts, and the account manager reviews and edits the proposal before the client sees the proposal.

Customer voice

“What you’ve built is better than anything I’ve seen so far.”

Takeaway

Dagny turned proposal preparation into a reviewed workflow built on Riemer's own Epic records. The first workflow created a foundation that future brokerage projects can reuse.
